Mark qualified as a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (USA). He has also trained as a Sports Power Coach with the Australian Weightlifting Federation, and was a Sports Performance Coach with USA Weightlifting.
Mark says, “A good client is anyone who is willing to work hard to make a positive change in their life.”
Some of his previous clients have included athletes looking to improve strength and endurance for a 7-day ultramarathon, a pregnant woman trying to minimise aches and pains during pregnancy, and office workers who want to regain lost muscle and improve their strength and mobility.
The programs that Mark writes are based around exercises which produce noticeable results in everyday life. So you might see deadlifts (good for safely picking objects up from the ground), farmers carries (helps with carrying shopping or luggage) and squats (great for sitting down and getting up from the ground).
Mark’s approach to training is very results orientated, so each session builds on the last to produce continuing improvement. He will push your body to the limit in order to stimulate adaptations in the muscular and central nervous systems, resulting in a stronger individual. This means working with progressively heavy weights and regularly changing exercise variations.
